Adelicia was a fascinating woman, and was considered one of the richest women in America. During the Civil War she made deals with both The Confederate and Union Armies to emerge
from the war with her fortune intact.
It is rumored that Adelicia was the inspiration for the Scarlett O'Hara character

Belmont was a "Summer Home" for the Acklens. Their main residence was a 8,400 acre Cotton
Plantation in Louisiana. I asked, it was destroyed by a flood back in the 1920's.
There are no interior shots, because taking pictures was not allowed inside.
