"Beautiful Meadow",
was founded 1807 by John Harding, and his wife, Mrs. Harding. Belle Meade grew from a log cabin and 250 acres, to a massive 5,400 acre plantation.

Belle Meade celebrated it's Bi - centennial in 2007, and was recently named "One of America's Grandest Mansions", by Budget Travel Magazine.

 Belle Meade was a renowned thoroughbred horse farm.

Secretariat, Seabiscuit, and Barbaro are just a few thoroughbreds that trace their bloodlines back to Belle Meade.

The current mansion ( built in 1853 ) was known as "The Queen of Tennessee Plantations". It is in the Greek Revival style.
