Built around 1850 ( no official record ) . Remodeled in the late 1890's. A major rennovation in the 1930's ( modern plumbing and wiring ).

Used as a Hospital by both Union and Confederate armies during the Civil War.

Monthaven was a working farm into the 1940's.

Currently houses the Hendersonville Arts Council, and features changing Art exhibits and works by local Craftsmen.
