The Museum portrays both the private life and public career
of the 38th President of the United States, Gerald R. Ford. High
lights of the Museum include: A full-scale replica of the Oval
Office; A Watergate Gallery; a section of the Berlin Wall; and
a special 1976 Bicentennial exhibit.
The Museum was dedicated in September of 1981. Among the
many dignitaries attending the dedication was President and
Mrs. Ronald Reagan.
The Museum sits on the West bank of the Grand River, is
44,000 sq. ft. and cost $11 million to build.
President Ford passed away on December 26, 2006 and is
interred on the grounds of the museum. Betty Ford will be
interred next to the President when she passes away.
