The Park is located in West Central Oklahoma, and is
considered to be one of the most scenic parks in Okla-
homa. The park is popular because of it's hiking trails,
rock climbing, canyon wall rappelling, camping, and
ample picnic areas. The park and campsites are located
down in the canyon among the canyon walls. Bunkhouses
are available for large groups.

The park is 310 acres and has 92 campsites. Located 60
miles West of Oklahoma City, 5 miles South of I-40, 1/2
 mile south of Hinton.

The Comanche and Cheyenne Indians were among the
tribes that camped here , and used the Canyon as a winter
refuge from the Oklahoma Northern winds.

With the discovery of gold in California in the mid-1800's
wagon trails were established, such as the California Road
which ran through where the park is currently located.
During the Gold Rush days the Canyon was also a hideout
  for outlaws.

The Canyon has the only remaining stand of Native Caddo
 trees.
