The Brush Motor Car Co. was founded in 1907 in Detroit, Mich. by Alanson P. Brush (1878 - 1952).  Mr. Brush was a gifted self-taught engineer. He also designed the first Oakland Motor Car, which became Pontiac. Brush cars had large one cyl. water cooled engines, and sold for $500. Brush and a couple of other Car makers merged in 1910 to form the United States Motor Co. Production ended in 1913.
