"The Charm of Yesterday, the Convience of Tomorrow"

The El Rancho was built in 1936, and formally opened
in December of 1937. Built for R.E. Griffith, brother
of Film Director D.W. Griffith (Birth Of A Nation).

The Southwestern theme and heavy Western furniture
are a signature of the El Rancho. The Hotel was known
as "The World's Largest Ranch House", and walking
into the Hotel is like stepping back into the Old West.
The rooms at the El Rancho are named after the many
movie stars that have stayed at the Hotel while filming
in the area. El Rancho employees were trained by the
famous Fred Harvey Co.

Added to the National Register of Historic Places in
January of 1988.
