The Metropolitan was designed by the Nash - Kelvinator Co. Start up
tooling costs to launch an all new car line would be prohibitive
for
struggling Nash. To save cash, production of the Metropolitan
was
contracted out to the Austin Motor co. of Birmingham, England.
Production started in October of 1953.
The Metropolitan was produced from 1954 - 1962, with a total of
94,986 units made.

Jimmy Buffet, Phil Collins, Weird Al, and Princess Margaret.
