Henry Soulsby built the station in 1926. The station
measured 13' x 30'. In the mid 1930's a 12' x 30' addition
was made. Soulsby Station was owned by the Soulsby
family since it's opening in 1926 until it's closing in 1991.
The Station was sold in 1997. Soulsby Station was
inducted into the Illinois Route 66 Hall of Fame in 1990.
It is one of the oldest filling stations on Route 66.
